That's an awesome car! Why are you selling?

  1. I got a free 2004 Prius from the parentals. It handles like a boat and goes like a sloth. But it was free. I know. Life's tough.
  2. I decided to go to seminary and it's not cheap. Now I know why clergy take a vow of poverty... they don't have any money left after their schooling!
  3. I now have four cars and only two drivers in the family. Insurance sucks.
  4. The MINI is by far the most fun but the only one with a car payment so it's the one to go.
So I guess my gain is your gain, too.

Full Disclosure

Honesty. Bah. Okay, the car is just about spotless but in it's year and a half with me its lived a little.

Door ding behind the driver side door

I got this the first couple weeks I had the car in a Costco parking lot. Thank you considerate Costco shoppers. I had it estimated as a $150 paintless dent removal fix. I am willing to fix this for the buyer.

How low can you go?

Nice and low, actually. I had the car lowered
for about a year with Megan Racing coilovers. This means the shocks and springs on the car took a year off to relax in my garage and are that much newer! The car looks tons better lowered but rides tons better stock. Also had a front strut bar installed. This noticeably tightened up the steering. Everything is back to factory stock for the sale. If it matters to you the dealer never saw it lowered.

Owie

While lowering it the professionals who installed my coilovers put a floor jack into the bottom of the car underneath the intercooler. It put a small crack into the plastic engine cover behind the front lip of the car and actually cracked the intercooler. I was going to replace the cover but the crack is small, doesn't affect anything, and is not noticeable unless you have the car up on a lift. The intercooler was replaced. If you don't know what that is it's the little radiator like thing at the bottom of this picture. It's purpose is to cool the intake air after the turbo pressurizes it before it heads into the engine to go boom. Colder air equals a more dense charge. More oxygen + more gas = more power. Who says there's no replacement for displacement?

Vision's getting foggy

I put yellow bulbs into the foglights. Yellow is supposedly better in fog because it doesn't reflect back as much and gives better contrast in low light. And, to be honest, it looks pretty rad. These light bulbs are the only non stock thing on the car right now.

Breaking the law!

Ok, I couldn't bear to have holes drilled into the front bumper for a license plate frame. In CA a front plate is required. There are a few options here: 1) drill 'em, 2) buy one of these: Platypus, 3) keep dodging 5-0.

If you have any questions about this stuff let me know.
